SRE grants awarded to OSMS and GC Sheriff Department

    LUCEDALE, MS –Singing River Electric Power Association recently awarded Neighbors Helping Neighbors Community Grants of $2500 each to the George County Sheriff's Department and Ocean Springs Middle School.

     Grant funds in George County were used to help purchase equipment for the county's new Belgian Malinois drug dog, Pepe. Equipment included a K-9 deployment heat alert system, K-9 activity tracking system, K-9 behavior shaping device BSD-2 and K-9 ballistic protective vest.

     Ocean Springs Middle School used grant funds to purchase equipment and software needed to create videos teaching Spanish to students and the local community.
