Cooperation Among Cooperatives: Singing River Electric sends aid to Magnolia Electric Power

Our linemen worked long hours on Saturday restoring power during the extreme wind event and will soon be helping Magnolia Electric Power based in Summit, Miss, after multiple tornadoes caused extensive damage.
Magnolia Electric reports having 270 broken poles. Their outage number is relatively low at 1,297 but changing out that many poles and stringing the power lines is a massive task. Singing River Electric linemen are joining others from Mississippi electric cooperatives Southwest Electric, North East Mississippi Electric, and East Mississippi Electric to help Magnolia, living out the 6th Cooperative Principle – Cooperation Among Cooperatives.
We wish safe travels for our linemen, safe work for all linemen working in tornado-damaged areas, and a return to normalcy for Magnolia Electric members.
