Singing River Electric recently awarded Neighbors Helping Neighbors (NHN) Community Grants to three area high schools that applied for funding for a particular project.
- East Central High School received $2,500 to purchase a milling machine for the school’s pre-engineering class to provide hands-on experience in proper machine set up, cutting tools selection, tool path simulation and machining center operation.
- George County High School received $2,475.38 to purchase items to set up an internet café in the school’s library for the Culinary Arts and business students to operate.
- Ocean Springs High School received $1,945 to purchase five stereomicroscopes to be used by the general, advanced and AP Biology students and AP environmental/ ecology students.
