Singing River Electric awards three NHN Grants to local high schools

Singing River Electric recently awarded Neighbors Helping Neighbors (NHN) Community Grants to three area high schools that applied for funding for a particular project.

  • East Central High School received $2,500 to purchase a milling machine for the school’s pre-engineering class to provide hands-on experience in proper machine set up, cutting tools selection, tool path simulation and machining center operation.
  • George County High School received $2,475.38 to purchase items to set up an internet café in the school’s library for the Culinary Arts and business students to operate.
  • Ocean Springs High School received $1,945 to purchase five stereomicroscopes to be used by the general, advanced and AP Biology students and AP environmental/ ecology students.
